Now I don't eat a lot of meat. Not because I don't like it or I think it will harm me. I love it actually.
I don't eat a lot of lean meats because it costs a fortune. I still love lean steak and pork.
Okay here's my NO Meat meal before a workout.
It works for me.
Take 4 eggs and use 3 whole eggs and take the yolk out of the 4th one. Now whisk those up in a bowl and cook em' either on the stove or in the microwave and nuke em'.
Now take a half can of chili-style beans and add a cup of frozen veggies to the mix and put in another bowl and slide in the microwave. Now make 2 slices of whole wheat toast.
Oh, take the eggs and you can scramble them or sunny side up,or any way you want to cook them.
You get 24 grams of protein from the eggs, and 6 grams of protein from the toast.
Your beans might be 10 grams. It depends. So your meal is approximately 40 grams of protein and 20 grams of fat. Actually a higher fat meal before a workout can fuel that workout and give you energy,a s well as brain food that helps you think more clearly. A higher fat diet works to blowtorch bodyfat and fuel muscle growth only if you work out consistently, and daily.
You get solid protein from your eggs and beans; and loads of fiber from the beans, frozen veggies and some whole grains from your toast.
It's good real food. Whole food should consist of 90% of your diet, not protein powder. It has it's place but not at the dinner plate.
Try it out and see. Yes it takes work but too bad.
Tell me your results.
